A Bit of History
I am the proud Broker and Owner of Johnson Realty. Before I began
my career in real estate I worked as a public relations strategist for
several different sporting areas.  I worked in
NASCAR, CART (IndyCar),
the 2000
Tour de France, 2000 Summer Olympics, to name a few.
Since my husband, Mike was racing as well, I moved to a career which
would at least keep us in the same country.  My knowledge and skill in
"selling" stories to reporters and sponsors get applied everyday to all
of my homes.

I earned my real estate license in 2000 in the State of Georgia and
worked in new home sales.  In 2002, I took a sought after position with
Childs-Dreyfus, an interior marketing firm in Chicago.  (I also, have my
real estate broker's license in Illinois)  Interior marketing means using
design and staging to attract the demographic most likely  to purchase
the home.  If the design strategy is executed correctly it results in a
quicker sale and higher price.  Looking back, this was a great move for
me since I used what I learned in this industry everyday when I help my
clients stage their home.

The next few years went very quickly as I got married, assisted in the
opening of a brokerage in Fort Collins, Colorado, (where I still hold an
active broker's license)  moved back to Georgia and took a job as a
Sales Manager of an investment firm managing residential portfolios.
If I could pinpoint the one move in my life that was most helpful to me
currently, taking that job would be it.

In my first year, I sold 200 homes without an assistant.  I closed the
most difficult deals possible such as purchasing a home vested to a
minor, REOs, foreclosures, estate sales and straight residential sales.
I really loved the high volume aspect of the business and the constant
challenge.

In 2005, my husband I had a baby boy named Connor.  Since Mike was
traveling more days than a NASCAR team and having no family in
Atlanta, I couldn't work the nearly 60-80 hours a week that was required
at my job.  We decided to move to Mike's hometown of St. Louis where
we could have more help with Connor and start our new business,
Johnson Realty.

Johnson Realty is based off a concept we found while living in Atlanta.
When we were selling our very first home, as a broker I wasn't about to
pay 7% for someone to list my home.  I knew what was involved and it
just wasn't worth it.  I told my husband we just needed to get on the
MLS and I would handle the rest.  I
Googled "MLS Access Atlanta" and
a company called
Duffy Realty of Atlanta popped up.  They offered us
more marketing than any traditional company for a flat fee upfront and
then charged us .34% on the back end to fully negotiate the contract
and bring it to a close.  Both Mike and I thought this idea was
ingenious and we decided to take the concept to St. Louis.
-A side note is we sold 2 houses in Atlanta using this concept saving
about $25,000 in total commissions.  The first house we sold
ourselves so we didn't have to pay a buyer's agent!!!

So here we are.  Several years later and taking St. Louis by storm.  In
only 2
years since our first listing we have listed about 300 homes,
been covered by the
St.Louis Post Dispatch  and Alive Magazine and
have been voted one of the Best Realtors in Customer Satisfaction by
St. Louis Magazine.
